  • tori
Torus palatinus: This palatal torus is a nadular mass of bone in the midline of the hard palate, it appers during the second or the third decade of life.
  • Torus Mandibularis: Mandibulr tori is a bony growth in the lingual part of the lower jaw in the premoalr region, were in most cases these are bilateral.

What causes tori?

Unfortunately it is very painful and can cause other problems.

My husband also has this. About 13 years ago he found out what the bony protrusions were but HIS come all the way through--and they are sharp, needle-like bony shards that poke through these seemingly benign photos.

A torus can cause suicide-inducing pain and also lead to other denal problems. Hopefully your husband doesn't have this problem but mine did--the tori (torus--plural) always poked through and never just sat there.
