Acupuncture, Dental, Nursing Continuing Education Courses Now Online

HealthCMI creates a multi-platform online continuing education portal for license credit. Professionals can take online courses in acupuncture, dentistry and nursing.

Capitola, CA (PRWEB) December 17, 2007 –- Continuing education courses for acupuncture, nursing, and dental professionals now combine with the Healthcare Medicine Institute's (HealthCMI) news portal to provide continuing education (CE) re-licensing credit at www.healthcmi.com.
"Our learning management systems utilize open source solutions which enable acupuncturists, dentists, and nurses to take continuing education courses anywhere and at anytime," Executive Director of HealthCMI, Adam White, said. "Quality continuing education classes are now being posted to our online classroom to respond to the needs of medical professionals. Access to courses and license credit certificates online allows for the most current and important classes to become available. In 2007, we launched the
acupuncture online division. For 2008, we look forward to launching the dental and nursing online divisions,” White said.

HealthCMI provides California CEU credits, national NCCAOM PDA points, and Florida CE continuing education credits for acupuncturists making all courses at HealthCMI valid for every state that licenses acupuncturists in the US and parts of Canada. All dental courses launched in 2008 will be American Dental Association Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA CERP) certified. The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation will accredit all nursing courses launched in 2008. In this way, all HealthCMI courses will be certified for continuing education re-licensing credit for all acupuncturists, dentists, and nurses.

HealthCMI provides three RSS news feeds- one for acupuncture, dentists, and nurses respectively. "We now provide a news portal service to link the creation of continuing education courses with the needs of medical professionals. The news web feeds allows HealthCMI to become responsive to current medical and educational developments," White said. Recent articles at www.healthcmi.com noted that issues of antibiotic resistant cross-infection and super infection have increased dramatically in the US. In response, HealthCMI will offer a course starting in January of 2008 on the treatment of pediatric ear infections with Chinese Medicine. The news article also links to the importance of upcoming dental courses for the prevention and treatment of oral infections with state-of-the-art dental products.

The HealthCMI news portal has also reported on issues of depression and its link to life-threatening risks. As a result, the Healthcare Medicine Institute will provide a course on the topic of depression and suicide prevention. This course will help acupuncture, dental, and nursing professionals to identify high-risk patients and provide resources for these patients to access the necessary help required for recovery. Another upcoming online course will satisfy the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) new requirements for courses in the safety and ethics category. This course responds to a recent news story at healthcmi.com announcing the new acupuncture license requirements by the NCCAOM. This course will feature Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements and other important issues affecting licensed acupuncturists.
