Abrasion

Tooth wear caused by mechanical forces or improper brushing.

 

Abscess

A localized collection of pus caused by an infection in the bone or soft tissue.

 

Abutment

A tooth that supports a dental prosthesis (brideg, partial denture, etc.)

 

Air Abrasion

The use of a high pressure spray of aluminum oxide, which cuts through the tooth structure and removes decay, and old white filings.

 

Alveolar bone

The bone that surround the roots of the teeth.

 

Alveoloplasty

A surgical procedure that inveolve cutting and recontouring the alveolar bone.
