What comes first, brushing or flossing?

After most dental visits, you are often told to brush and floss. There is much more that you can do to keep your teeth and gums healthy. It matters more that you brush and floss more than in what order. You can use xylitol gum which has been found to reduce caries (cavities). It may even be a better substitute for fluoride (Fluoride is the reason for warning labels on back of toothpaste). After brushing and flossing, a water pik and tongue cleaner seemed to be rarely used. Be consistent, brush regularly for at least three minutes, floss and use regular proper hygiene products that will help keep gums and teeth healthy. It only takes about six hours for plaque to rebuild after brushing your teeth, so establish a routine that works for you and have regular checkups with your dentist.More...
