I had a filling replaced and since then it has been very painful to bite on that tooth
I had a filling replaced about 5 weeks ago, since then it has been very painful to bite on that tooth. I went back to the dentist who told me that the tooth was cracked while the filling was replaced. He has filled the crack and covered the tooth with some bonding. However is still painful, what else can be done? Also, I am especially worried as I am a SCUBA diving instructor and know that trapped air in teeth can cause major problems under water as the air will expand...Im not sure what the best route for me to get this resolved.

Have the filling checked and reevaluated, The filling could be high causing pain on biting, or if there is a crack then the tooth might need a crown or a root canal. This might affect your diving ability since the underwater pressure might cause more pain in the area.

You must checked it with your dentist.
