Pain and discomfort: It takes 2-3 weeks to get used to your braces. Initially your cheeks, Lips, and tongue will be cut from rubbing against the brackets and bands. Your teeth will also feel sore but you will get used to your braces in a couple of days. After each adjustment of the braces, you will also feel some discomfort and pain in the teeth or in the soft tissues.

Brushing and Flossing with braces: With braces you will have to brush after every meal, you will not be able to floss so you will have to use a proxy brush to clean in between your teeth.
